A function facility south of Boston was preparing for a wedding showcase and wanted everything about their space to look perfect, starting with the first impression, the beautiful marble foyer and entryway. Consisting of Jerusalem Gold marble and black and white mosaic border, the floor needed some TLC. First our crew carefully stripped the wax that had been built up over the years, and then honed out the scratches and etch marks to a beautiful, silky semi-gloss finish.
Often times, janitorial services will apply wax to natural stone floors to create a shine. This is because they don’t have the equipment or the training to restore the stone optimally. Wax is damaging for several reasons. First of all it doesn’t allow the floor to “breathe” so moisture can get trapped and can damage the stone. Second of all it yellows over time and just doesn’t look good. If you are in charge of a function facility, country club or hotel, that wants their stone looking great for the upcoming wedding season, contact Boston Stone Restoration for a complimentary estimate!
