In recent years, natural stone has become very popular in both commercial and residential buildings. Sometimes designers or architects choose a stone because of the way it looks and for the price point. But let me tell you, if you choose the wrong stone for the wrong application you can run into some big trouble!
Limestone Floor - Before
This reminds me of a recent renovation we did at a high-end condo building in downtown Boston. The management company wanted to improve the look of the lobby in one of their buildings. Due to the high traffic in-and-out the floor was in tough shape. After some tender loving care we were able to bring back much of the original luster to the limestone lobby. While the finished product is beautiful, a soft stone might not be the best choice for a high traffic area.
