Why is my marble or limestone hazy?

When a polished marble or limestone floor appears “hazy”, “cloudy” or “dull”, it is generally a sign that either an incorrect cleaning solution has been used (i.e., one that is too acidic), that the floor has withstood high traffic and tiny scratches from grit or sand have adversely effected the polish or both.

When this occurs, it’s time for diamond honing (restoration) to take place.

This restoration process is achieved by using a series of diamond abrasives of different grits, to first remove the damage, such as the scratches or etch-marks, and then, as finer and finer diamond abrasives are used to produce a perfectly smooth floor which is ready to be polished.
