16th Century Encaustic Tile Restored in Boston

Jul 12, 2022

Home 9 Before After 9 16th Century Encaustic Tile Restored in Boston

We had the great privilege to return to this 16th century encaustic tile floor in Boston. The story is that this floor was reclaimed from a palace in Lebanon which means its right at home in this glamorous place of honor in downtown Boston. Our team removed wax build up and resealed the entire stone floor and the results are stunning.

For hundreds of years these floors have been walked on; filled with character these encaustic tiles have been lovingly restored and maintained by Boston Stone Restoration for our client in The Mandarin Oriental. The Mandarin Oriental is a stunning, ultra luxury development in Boston’s Back Bay. The residence is one of 50 stunning, highly customized residences which located on the upper levels.
