The Hyannis Youth and Community Center, in Barnstable, MA houses twin NHL size ice rinks, a 12,500 square foot wood floor gymnasium, locker rooms, and multiple function rooms and catering space. They get a lot of traffic in and out of the building year round and their lobby was in need of some serious TLC. There is over 2,500 square feet of slate flooring that was dirty and had a coating on that was failing and no longer providing protection to the floor. So Boston Stone Restoration came in, stripped off the old coating, cleaned the floor with a hot water, high-pressure system and applied a new coating to provide a shine and protect the floor going forward.
The coating we used is called MicroGuard® AD1000 All-In-One Hard Surface Finish. AD1000 provides a long-lasting, stunningly beautiful, sustainable and non-sacrificial finish that protects tile & grout, stone, terrazzo, non-ferrous metal, painted metal and concrete surfaces from corrosion, abrasive wear, mold, odor, graffiti and chemical attack and is specifically designed for high traffic areas. The results speak for themselves!
