Slate flooring is a very desirable choice for high traffic areas such as mudrooms, laundry rooms and bathrooms, due to its durability and resistance to significant moisture. That is not to say that slate is impenetrable.
Sometimes damage can be caused with the wrong cleaning product, as was the case with this beautiful floor in Wellesley Hills. The black slate was etched when a caustic cleaner was used around the base of the toilet. Fortunately this type of damage removal is our specialty!
After cleaning and honing the floor to remove the damage we applied a color enhancing sealer to protect the floor and increase the shine.
We also rehabbed the granite in the kitchen which was in need of attention. We love to bring life back to an older stone and in this case both look great!
