It’s a time of year to celebrate, to share joy and give back. Giving Tuesday of the perfect opportunity to give a little and with Facebook and PayPal matching donations up to a total of $7 million, there’s no better time to give.
So we decided, in the spirit of the season, we’d skip our stone restoration topic this week and offer our blog space to a few of our favorite causes.

Bay State Animal Cooperative Their mission is to practice a no-kill philosophy while providing humane resources and services aimed at reducing animal overpopulation and unnecessary suffering for companion, stray, relinquished and feral animals across Massachusetts including but not limited to: sheltering and adoption, mobile medical, adoption and education services, fundraising events, and a sanctuary.
The Greater Boston Food Bank Founded in 1981, The Greater Boston Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in New England, and one of the largest food banks in the country. GBFB was able to meet or exceed all of our organizational goals for the 2018 fiscal year. Highlights from the past year include: – GBFB distributed over 50 million pounds of food, or over 40 million meals to community members in need through our member agencies and programs.
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
The Jimmy Fund solely supports the fight against cancer at Dana-Farber. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community efforts to help save lives and give hope to cancer patients around the world. An official charity of the Boston Red Sox, Pan-Mass Challenge, Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, and Variety Children’s Charity of New England, the Jimmy Fund is an American favorite.
