Terrazzo Patching at Boston’s Logan Airport

Oct 26, 2018

We have been talking a lot about terrazzo lately as it is a commonly used application for flooring in schools, airports, and hospitals. It is extremely durable, but over time can need restoration and maintenance.  One of the beauties of terrazzo is if the floor’s configuration changes, or if it cracks, we can repair and replace it.

We just finished a project at Logan airport for The Transportation Security Administration (TSA). One of the TSA office floors had severe damage and cracking due to renovation work being done at the airport. Rather than ripping out the whole floor, we were able to match and patch the damaged areas.  It is hard work to dig out the damaged area, match the epoxy and aggregate stones and then grind the floor flat. But as you can see the finished product looks great!
