On Myrtle Street in Boston, there is a beautiful historic building called the Beacon House. The thing that makes it unusual is it is operated by Rogerson Communities as affordable housing. It features a beautiful lobby with a terrazzo floor that had been coated with wax over the years. Another feature is that it has a handicap ramp that was added in 2003 constructed to match the original flooring.
Boston Stone Restoration was contracted to restore the lobby and ramp to a high shine without the use of wax, which requires a lot of maintenance over time as it yellows and can detract from the beauty of the original floor. If you are a property manager with terrazzo flooring that needs some TLC, give us a call!
