We were recently contacted by a Property Manager from Columbus Ave in Boston, MA who was having difficulty keeping his elevator lobby and elevator cars looking pristine. They were made of limestone and heavily etched and scratched from daily use. Boston Stone Restoration suggested that we hone the higher traffic lobby floor to a matte finish to diminish the appearance of wear long-term, and then polish cars to a higher shine.
We also recommended a semi-annual cleaning using high pressure water to dislodge dirt, but not mar the floor finish. The tenants and the Property Manager alike were very happy with the results and ease of maintenance.
