Sudbury, MA Rojo Alicante Vanity Refinished & Restored
Here is great example of a Rojo Alicante vanity restoration we did in Sudbury, MA. Rojo Alicante marble (also known as Rosa Alicante, Alicante Red or Rosso Alicante) is extracted and shipped from Spain and commonly found in cladding, flooring and bath design – it can be a really beautiful accent stone especially when its polished. This Rojo Alicante vanity was really gorgeous but needed some TLC after enduring heavy use and improper cleaning products.
The Rojo Alicante was honed, which means the stone top was ground to a perfect, smooth, consistent surface. For stones with a natural shine such as granite or marble, the polish or shine is removed leaving a matte (unpolished) surface with little to no reflection and no bumps, rings or ridges.
In this case, we created a high shine finish achieved through the application of diamond polishing pads. A polished finish presents elegantly, highlighting the stone’s color and character. A polished texture is also very smooth and reduces the stone’s porosity helping to diminish future staining. The full color, depth, and the crystal structure is visible with a polished finish.
